DESIGN APPROACH & CONCEPT
Pottery Barn is a home furnishing company that provides unique and quality pieces. Originally, the company opened in 1949 in West Chelsea in lower Manhattan. It started off with tabletops and eventually moved into houseware and decorative items. In 1983, the company was purchased by Williams- Sonoma, Inc. They created many branches within the brand: baby, kids, teen, & dorm. With the addition of a design team and studio, Pottery barn is able to produce quality products with intricate craftsmanship. The four main elements that the company focuses on is: innovation, giving back, great service, and creating long-lasting products. The idea was to modernize the brand to who they are now and connect their target audience better to the branding of the company.
